GM’s Mid Month Report, January 15, 2012; Sunrise is at 9:57am and sunset is at 4:40pm for a total of 6 hours and 24 minutes of daylight. It’s -20 degrees and let me tell you, that’s cold. We’ve had a winter’s worth of snow and it’s only half way through the winter. It’s unusual for us. Denise, Kevin and I returned from the American Baseball Coaches Convention on the 8th. All the Gms were in attendance and help cover  the Alaska Baseball League’s information booth. Denise spent most of her time talking to vendors about new uniform and items for the field. Kevin worked the booth; checked things out for Coach Combs and Palmer High School, plus got to go in the batting cage set up to try out bats. Every time they switched bat manufacturers he was there to give them a try.  We had some sad news while we were at convention, Dennis Mattingly former GM for 32 years of the Anchorage Bucs lost his fight to cancer.  The Celebration of Life was on Thurs, Jan. 12th @ Tudor Road Bingo and we were able to make it through the snow storm to spend some time with there with everyone.  Also, special thoughts to Jack Powers and his family, we are all thinking of you.

We are getting closer to a resolution for all the damage at the field caused by the November wind storm. We are calling all our players, making sure everyone is healthy, going  over what’s expected of them and answering questions. Working on ordering equipment and uniforms for this season.  All our old uniform tops will go up for sale at our spring event on April 28th @ Raven Hall. Next report will be February 1st.

That’s it for now. Pete and Denise
