Miners drop game three in Kenai

A six-run fourth inning for the Peninsula Oilers provided enough offense to defeat the Mat-Su Miners 11-3 Monday night at Coral Seymour Memorial Park in Kenai.

In the fourth inning the Oilers mustered four hits, were given three free passes, and took advantage the Miners made in the field to put all six across in the sixth inning. They would add four more in the eighth against Connor Mondey, who threw three strong innings beforehand, but in his final inning of work, the Oilers scratched some hits across. Mondey ate up a much needed four innings to preserve more bullpen arms who were in need of rest. 

Kanyon Millar had himself a three-hit day, including his first home run of the season after sending one over the right field wall in the fifth.
