Miners lose second of doubleheader against Oilers
Pitching unable to keep it close in game two against Oilers
Seven free passes and three cruicial wild pitches for the Mat-Su Miners pitching staff paired with a lack of run support propels the Peninsula Oilers to an 11-3 victory in game two of the doubleheader on Friday at Hermon Brothers Field.
With ten hits, the Miners were only able to score three runs. Surprisngly only leaving six men on base, but just couldn't come through with guys on base.
The Oilers out together two solid innings of hitting the baseball and taking advantage of Mat-Su mistakes. They scored four in the second and seventh innings.
The Miners could have taken the season head-to-head against the Oilers with a win, but will have to await their next matchup on Sunday, July 19 against the Oilers. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. You can watch on the Mat-Su Miners YouTube channel.
